Why RenoFiz
A note from Marco Tozzini, co-founder
I am an engineer and I have always enjoyed technology. I have also spent several years doing maintenance and renovations on a few properties we manage.
That experience made one thing clear to me: homeowners are often expected to choose a contractor before they have enough information to understand the work, the likely cost, or even the right questions to ask.
When AI started becoming useful in everyday work, I saw an opportunity to use it to bring more clarity to a sector where homeowners rarely get it. Together with my son Luca, a software engineer with deep experience in AI, I decided to build RenoFiz.
The problem with current platforms
Most of the platform's business model is lead generation: collect a homeowner's details, send the lead to a contractor, and receive a referral fee.
The goal is usually to make the connection quickly. What happens after that is mostly left to the homeowner and contractor. Homeowners still have to work out what the project involves, what it might cost, who to trust, and how to compare or negotiate quotes.
Some platforms vet contractors, which is useful, but that is only one part of the problem. A vetted directory still leaves the homeowner to figure out the details alone before they can have a useful conversation with the contractor.
A better starting point for homeowners
We built RenoFiz to give homeowners a better first step. Homeowners can describe the work they need in normal language. RenoFiz uses AI to help create initial clarity around the likely scope of work and a transparent initial estimate. The homeowner can understand more about the project before deciding whether to speak with a contractor.
If the homeowner wants to move forward, RenoFiz can introduce a trusted contractor in Vancouver.
We have selected professionals we trust and highly rated, so homeowners do not have to start their search from zero or collect multiple quotes just to feel confident they are speaking with someone reliable.
The contractor still does the part only a professional can do: visit the site, assess the real conditions, and confirm the final scope, schedule, and price. RenoFiz does not replace that expertise. It helps the homeowner come to that conversation more prepared, which makes the process fairer for both sides.
The experience we want to create
Our goal is to create a clearer, fairer, and more modern experience for home maintenance and renovation. It should feel like a well-run service where homeowners can understand their options and take the next step with confidence. It should not feel like a used-car dealer experience, where people are pushed to make a decision with too little information.
That is why we built RenoFiz.
